Céline Miani is Professor of Social and Gender Epidemiology at the School of Public Health, Bielefeld University, Germany. Her work focuses on gender norms and reproductive health and healthcare, with a particular emphasis on how a gender perspective can inform social epidemiological research. Her recent research has centred on obstetric violence and the perceived quality of maternity care, alongside publications on abortion from a feminist perspective. In 2024, she launched a five-year ERC Starting Grant project on gynecological violence (GYNVEPI: Toward an Epidemiology of Gynaecological Violence). Given the sensitivity of this work, she is deeply engaged in developing robust ethical frameworks that address complex ethical and moral challenges.
