Beatrice is a DPhil student in Philosophy at Jesus College, where she is supervised by Professor Tom Douglas and funded by the Institute for Ethics in AI. Her research lies at the intersection of moral philosophy, applied ethics, and the philosophy of artificial intelligence. Her DPhil examines whether human–AI relationships can contribute to a good life, and how this should shape the way AI systems are designed and used. She is also interested in well-being and value theory, philosophy of mind, and the metaphysics of AI.
Before her DPhil, Beatrice completed a MCompPhil in Computer Science and Philosophy and an MSt in Practical Ethics, both at the University of Oxford. She has also worked as a software engineer at Google and as a researcher collaborating with the Responsibility Team at Google DeepMind.
