I am a DPhil student in philosophy working on questions of authorship, AI, and deception. My DPhil thesis will be made up of two main parts. In the first, more theoretical part of the project, I seek to develop an account of what authorship is and why it matters. And in the second part, I plan to apply that account to more practical issues surrounding the use of AI in writing. In particular, I want to ask when does AI use undermine authorship? And when does the failure to disclose AI use constitute wrongful deception?
My work on this thesis is being supervised by Professor Thomas Douglas and is funded by a St Cross Uehiro Scholarship for Future Generations.
Before the DPhil, I completed the BPhil in Philosophy and, before that, a BA in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, both at Oxford.
