Borgar Jølstad is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Medical Ethics at the University of Oslo and a Researcher at the Health Services Research Unit at Akershus University Hospital (Norway). He has a background in philosophy and clinical psychology. His research interests include healthcare priority setting, well-being, the value of health, distributive fairness, population ethics, and the relationship between empirical and normative (bio)ethics. His work has appeared in journals such as Utilitas, Erkenntnis, Social Science & Medicine, and the Journal of Medical Ethics. During his visit to the Uehiro Oxford Institute, he will conduct research on how to value procreative interventions such as IVF.
