Igor Tavares da Silva Chaves is a PhD researcher in philosophy, with a research focus on moral and political philosophy, particularly theories of justice and their application to health and healthcare. He holds a Master’s degree in Philosophy and is currently completing his doctoral studies, drawing especially on the work of John Rawls and contemporary debates in distributive justice and health equity.
Alongside his academic work, he is a Family and Community Physician in Brazil, with extensive experience in primary health care and medical education. His interdisciplinary research interests lie at the intersection of philosophy, public health, and ethics, with particular attention to fairness, priority-setting, and justice in health systems.
