Leo is a doctoral researcher at the Institute for Ethics in Technology at the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH). His doctoral thesis, supervised by Prof. Dr. Maximilian Kiener, examines the method of reflective equilibrium in ethics and how it fits together with different metaphysical views about ethics. During his visit to the Uehiro Oxford Institute, Leo will investigate in how far reflective equilibrium processes conducted with the assistance of AI systems can generate genuine epistemic justification.
Leo studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Oxford and Political Theory at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Before starting his PhD in Hamburg, he worked as a software engineer at the investment management firm Man Group in London.
