Matthias is a restructuring, turnaround and insolvency lawyer at a leading international law firm in London. He advises financial institutions, creditors, directors, corporates and insolvency practitioners on both non-contentious and contentious restructuring matters, formal insolvency appointments and other aspects of underperforming or distressed corporates.
Matthias has a particular interest in legal and political philosophy as well as philosophy of mind, which he first developed while studying Philosophy and Modern Languages at the University of Oxford, where he graduated in 2016 with a first class degree.
He is pursuing the MSt in Practical Ethics to develop his thinking of the philosophical underpinnings of English legal doctrines; his dissertation reviews the law of undue influence in the context of both contract law and the jurisdiction of the Court of Protection.
