Naz is a PhD candidate at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris. She is affiliated with the Georg Simmel Centre. Her research in the field of law and bioethics compares how the notion of « integrity of the human species » has been interpreted, developed, and applied across different legal systems. She examines how these legal systems have shaped their understanding of this notion in light of their respective historical trajectories, institutional frameworks, and cultural contexts.
Naz has also engaged in the international discourse on neurorights by working with lead UNESCO experts in the development of the organisation’s first international standard in this field, the «Recommendations on the Ethics of Neurotechnology» (2025). She has subsequently presented her research on the emergence of neurorights at academic and professional forums, including conferences and seminars held at the Kyoto University, Heidelberg University, as well as at the World Congress on Bioethics.
Naz holds a degree in law from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). She has worked with organisations such as the United Nations (UNHCR) and the Council of Europe on the implementation of international conventions and human rights standards.
