Paal Kvarberg is a doctoral research fellow in philosophy at the University of Oslo, and in the academic year of 2024-2025 he is a recognised student at the University of Oxford.
Kvarberg does research on well-being in a PhD project that is part of the interdisciplinary research project Modeling Human Happiness at the University of Oslo. He is also a member of the Science and Democracy research project at the University of Oslo, and in 2024-2025 he is the project leader of a project on forecasting and decision making funded by UiO: Democracy.
In his PhD project, Kvarberg explores the role of well-being for policy evaluation in a national political context. Specifically, he works with social science researchers to develop public models of well-being that make fine distinctions between causes, constituents and correlates of well-being in a way that is informed by science and the values of citizens.
Earlier, he led several innovation and research projects. See his institutional University of Oslo webpage or his personal website to learn more about these projects as well as ongoing research.
