Pablo Aguayo-Westwood is Associate Professor of Moral and Political Philosophy at the Faculty of Law, University of Chile, and Associate Professor of Theories of Justice at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Chile. He holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Valencia, as well as MAs in Ethics and Democracy (University of Valencia) and in Epistemology and Philosophy of Science (University of Chile).
His research focuses on theories of justice, recognition, and social bases of self-respect, with recent work on social rights, liberalism, and debates on prostitution as a matter of social justice. His recent publications include "Gestational Surrogacy. An Analysis Based on the Notions of Autonomy, Exploitation, and Objectification" Latin American Legal Studies, 2025; "Constitutive rules as a logical problem in the origin of John Rawls’ moral philosophy" Cinta de Moebio, and "Self-respect and the Justification of Rawlsian Principles of Justice" Ethics and Social Welfare, 2021.
He is currently Principal Investigator of a national research project on sex work and social justice and has held visiting positions at the Universities of York, Oxford and Barcelona.
