This paper presents and discusses some legislative and moral approaches to medically assisted end of life. The paper starts off by discussing the case of Brittany Maynard – the girl with terminal brain cancer who in October 2014, in Oregon, publicly announced through a video posted on the internet and subsequently put in practice her decision to end her life through medically assisted suicide. In particular, I focus here on the issue whether there is a moral right to die and whether there should be a legal right to receiving medical assistance to die. I will also discuss some legislative approaches currently adopted in various countries such as Belgium, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Oregon, and Switzerland
